About This Course
This programme, which is underpinned by the most recent advancements in women’s health, midwifery and maternity care, is perfect for qualified midwives and other relevant healthcare professionals.
It offers a unique opportunity to challenge midwives to critically examine how they can optimise childbirth for all women and their families.
By completing this programme, graduates will gain the skills and knowledge to evaluate maternity care provisions, and identify areas for improvement. They will also be able to reflect on their own professional practice, to further develop their awareness and experience.
Course Content
What will you study on this course?
Students will gain an insightful comprehension of the midwife’s responsibility in improving health and well-being, as well as the abilities required to optimise the childbirth experience. Additionally, they will refine their abilities in working with and for women and communities to enhance the childbirth experience, ensuring equality, diversity, and the rights of individuals are respected.
Careers
This program equips midwives with the knowledge and skills needed both to increase autonomy within their practice and to pursue employment opportunities at a senior level such as consultant midwife, practice development, and leadership roles. It can serve as a stepping stone to earning an MSc Midwifery Studies. Note: This program is part-time and so is not available to overseas/non-EU students.
