United Kingdom

Overview

To confront the worldwide epidemic of obesity and diabetes, the University of Glasgow has created an MSc in Diabetes. This program ensures that future researchers and medical professionals know how to apply the most advanced techniques and technologies in combating this disease.

WHY THIS PROGRAMME

The Royal Society of Biology accredits the University of Glasgow for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol) program, which meets the qualifications’ academic and experience criteria.

Expert clinicians and scientists will provide instruction, focusing on research rather than healthcare management.

The University of Glasgow has also developed bioresources linked to anonymized data from the National Health Service in Scotland and UK Biobank, combined with expertise in molecular and biomarker/ “-omic” techniques, clinical investigation, population-level epidemiology, clinical trials, and cardiovascular endpoint adjudication.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Graduates of the MSc Diabetes may have career prospects in diabetes clinical research, translational research, industrial research, education, public health, and allied medical professions. Additionally, this program can provide an excellent foundation for PhD-level research.
