Overview
The Advanced Physiotherapy MSc offers a high quality, continuing professional development opportunity for physiotherapists from all backgrounds. Core modules focus on four key areas of advanced practice (clinical practice, leadership, education and research) and aid learners in developing their decision-making skills, implementing evidence-based practice and creating innovative solutions to improve the experience of patients, families and carers, as well as the clinical outcomes. You can choose to exit the program with either a PGDip or a PGCert award. This program is open to both UK and overseas applicants, encouraging a multicultural exchange of clinical knowledge and strategies that delivers an exciting learning environment.
Course structure
This MSc course provides an interdisciplinary experience with flexibility to focus on your area of interest within physiotherapy. With lectures, seminars, e-learning, workbooks for work-based learning and use of the Human Movement Laboratory and Clinical Skills and Simulation Rooms, you will have the resources you need to thrive. Through this course, you will have the support to grow your learning and career development.Six modules and a dissertation are necessary to complete the MSc. The three core modules, two professional modules and an option module will give you the knowledge and skills needed to make progress. The dissertation can be based on research at the university or another suitable environment.
This course offers the opportunity to make the most of your own knowledge and interests while also learning with occupational therapy, podiatry, nursing, midwifery and paramedic colleagues. Six one-week study blocks will be used to advance your skills.
